The Lagos State Government has expanded its recycling program to additional neighborhoods in a bid to reduce waste pollution and encourage environmental responsibility.

During a press briefing, the Commissioner for Environment said that new recycling centers and collection points have been established in Surulere, Ikeja, Yaba, and Ajah.
Residents can now drop off plastic bottles, cartons, electronics, and other recyclable materials for processing.

The government also announced partnerships with private recycling companies to convert waste into useful products such as roofing tiles, school furniture, and pavement blocks.
Environmental groups applauded the initiative, saying it will reduce litter and improve drainage efficiency during the rainy season.

Some residents, however, requested more public awareness campaigns to educate people on how to separate waste properly.
Officials promised community outreach programs in the coming months.
