Kaduna State has introduced a drone-based monitoring program to help farmers access accurate data on soil quality, rainfall distribution, and crop health.
The program, developed in partnership with agricultural technology firms, aims to increase yields and reduce losses caused by outdated farming methods.

During a demonstration at a large farmland in Giwa, officials showed how drones can scan hectares of land in minutes and generate detailed maps farmers can use to make planting decisions.
Local farmers who attended the event said the technology could help them plan better, especially during the planting season.

The state government plans to extend the service to all local government areas and subsidize drone mapping for small-scale farmers.
